The CoSTAR Realtime Lab led by Abertay University is part of the UK Network for R&D in Creative Technology. The Realtime Lab will be co-located between Water’s Edge in Dundee and Edinburgh College of Art. The project brings together video games development expertise in Dundee’s globally significant games cluster with world leading applied Research & Development (R&D) at Abertay University and film, television and animation production in Edinburgh with University of Edinburgh’s world leading expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The University now seeks to appoint a Virtual Production Studio Engineer.

Reporting to the Director of the CoSTAR Realtime Lab you will maintain the operability and functionality of the projects virtual production facilities at Water’s Edge, Abertay University and Edinburgh College of Art. The Studio engineer will understand the demands of a variety of production methodologies and creative practice in games development, film and animation production, and will be familiar with technologies associated with digital media acquisition, motion capture and procedural content generation.

The role requires a degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience in a relevant industry role. Please refer to the candidate brief for more information about the roles.
