Overview:  

We are seeking a Full-time Virtual Art Department Instructor to join our team for PXO’s Virtual Production Academy. The ideal candidate will have experience in virtual production and be able to instruct and lead students in the virtual art department.  

The role will involve teaching students how to create and develop virtual environments, characters, and props while providing guidance and support in the virtual production process. The candidate should be familiar with various virtual production tools and software, such as Unreal Engine, Houdini, Nuke X, Maya, and Blender, and be able to teach students how to use them effectively. 

Responsibilities: 

Develop teaching materials using PXO-VPA’s curriculum that are engaging and informative for students. 
Teach students the concept, creation, and development of 3D virtual environments and props using virtual production software such as Unreal Engine and resources such as Megascans. 
Provide guidance and support to students throughout the VAD process, from pre-production to post-production. 
Evaluate student work and provide feedback and constructive criticism to help students improve their skills. 
Stay updated with new virtual production technologies and tools and incorporate them into the curriculum. 
Collaborate with other instructors, PXO team members, and Seneca College Faculty to develop interdisciplinary projects and curriculum. 
Participate in student recruitment events and activities to help promote the program and attract potential students. 
Attend regular meetings and participate in program assessment and evaluation. 
Requirements: 

Degree or Diploma in a related field, such as digital art, game design, or computer science. 
At least 2 years of experience in virtual production. 
At least 3-5 years of experience creating 3D virtual environments, characters, and props. 
Strong knowledge of virtual production software, including Unreal Engine, Houdini, Maya, and Nuke. 
Understand UE5 Blueprints 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively teach and mentor students. 
At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably in a related field. 
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and shared goals. 
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
A passion for teaching and mentoring students and helping them achieve their goals.
