Compositing Supervisor

We are seeking a talented and experienced Composting Supervisor based in Germany, to join our team at Pixomondo, for a minimum of 12 months.

The Compositing Supervisor is responsible for the management and work quality of the Compositing team. You are adept at promoting the overall development of the entire 2D pipeline in order to cultivate and lead a strong team of highly motivated and enthusiastic compositors while identifying areas for each team member to expand within their role.  Working in close collaboration with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, and Producer, you are a highly skilled communicator who has the ability to delegate project needs to your team as well as represent the voice of the compositing crew when it comes to the workload and pipeline environment. 

Responsibilities:

Key role in driving the overall direction of the 2D department as well as growing, mentoring and managing a world class compositing team.
Liaise directly with VFX Supervisor / Producer and delegate the compositing needs of the project(s) to the compositing team as well as represent the voice of the compositing crew with respect to workload and pipeline environment.
Collaborate with the VFX Producer and Production Manager to plan and allocate resources effectively, including manpower, software, and hardware.
Ensure all elements are complete and on time from beginning to end of each project.
Review and critique the work of the compositors, providing feedback and guidance to improve the quality and efficiency of their work.
Provide and document feedback to Pipeline team for the development of the 2D pipeline across projects.
Define techniques for complex visual effects shots and work with other departments and also other studios to completion.
Assist in recruitment, reviewing talent reels and making recommendations.
Mentor and support the professional development of the compositing team members, identifying areas for growth and providing opportunities for skill enhancement.
Qualifications:

Extensive experience working in the visual effects industry, with a focus on compositing, preferably a minimum of 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of compositing software Nuke and familiarity with other relevant software and tools used in the industry.
Strong understanding of compositing principles, techniques, and workflows, including keying, tracking, color correction, and integration of CG elements.
Proficient in managing and leading a team of compositors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality work.
Excellent artistic and creative skills, with a keen eye for detail, color, lighting, and composition.
Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to address complex compositing challenges and troubleshoot technical issues.
Familiarity with different visual effects pipelines and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments, such as animation, lighting, and matte painting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively plan, allocate resources, and track shot progress.
Dependable under pressure with strong attention to detail.
A portfolio or reel showcasing past compositing work and demonstrating a high level of skill and creativity.
Additional Requirements:

Must already be eligible to work in the EU.  It is not possible to provide work visa or relocation assistance for this position.
