Summary:

Nickelodeon Animation Studio is seeking a Technical Director with Unreal Engine experience to support and enhance our ground-breaking new story production pipeline on Max & the Midknights on a part-time freelance basis.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, implement, debug, and maintain critical pipeline tools and workflows for our Story, Editorial, and Production teams
Take ownership of and support our existing pipeline tools
Collaborate with artists and creative leadership to make sure the tools meet their specific needs and are designed to be robust under the pressures of production
Create solutions using Python, Blueprint, and general shell scripting
Assist artists with troubleshooting and debugging production issues, which may include data and asset management between studios
Maintain internal and user-facing documentation
Assist with training artists and production teams on pipeline tools, both internally and at vendor studios, and provide demos as needed
Maintain awareness of new tools, software advancements, and animation industry trends
Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Animation Production, or equivalent experience in a related field
Strong experience with Unreal Engine, Python, Blueprint (for games and/or linear content creation), and math skills
Coursework in computer graphics, 3D game development, and mathematics with familiarity utilizing coordinate systems, keyframes, interpolation, and linear algebra
Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm for developing a new animatic production process based on Unreal Engine
Ability to self-manage and context-switch between multiple simultaneous assignments with different deadlines
A creative and flexible thinker and innovator with the ability to devise and employ ingenious solutions to difficult problems
Exceptional communication skills
 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Weekly Hiring Salary Range: $1820.0 – 2200.0. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington State, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
