Based in the Orlando, Florida studio, you will report to the Sr Acquisition Manager to provides high-quality body, face and camera motion performances and 3D likeness capture for in-game, cinematic and narrative sequences. We’re looking to add to our team in Orlando, Florida to maintain and operate our motion capture and 3D scanning systems to capture assets for 3D scanning, animation, VR and virtual production out of the Tiburon studio.

As a Senior Motion Capture Technician, you will:

Provide leadership to the development teams in the acquisition of motion capture assets during performance sessions.
Lead the entire production process, including preparation, setup, operation, and maintenance of motion capture systems and associated hardware.
Lead the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of multiple motion capture systems, including optical (Vicon), inertial (Xsens), and markerless technologies as well the integration of facial capture systems.
Oversee real-time animation retargeting using industry-standard software like Motion Builder or game engines such as Unreal.
Track, solve, retarget and clean motion capture animation assets to ensure results.
Use and develop proprietary tools associated with motion capture operations.
Capture cinematic animation sequences involving characters, props, and cameras.
Collaborate with animation leads and directors to develop motion capture visual targets and develop pipelines.
Provide support for performer motion capture wardrobe fitting and marker application.
Document workflows and pipelines to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
Qualifications

You are an experienced in motion capture production related to video games, television, film or other related industry
You have knowledge of industry-standard processes, protocols, and best practices related to motion capture, animation, and visual effects; vicon, xsens, motion builder, unreal engine, and other relevant tools.
3+ years of experience with virtual cameras, virtual reality, and virtual production techniques, including proficiency in cinematic language, camera terminology, and knowledge of real-world cameras of multiple types.
You have demonstrated capability to work as part of a team, collaborate with animation leads and directors, and with performers and other production personnel.
You have experience maintaining motion capture hardware, including cameras, suits, markers, and facial capture systems.
You have understanding of programming languages commonly used for motion capture pipelines, such as Python or C++
You are willing to travel periodically to support production demand
